The Beginning - well, sort of.

August 6th 2011, Falmouth, Cape Cod
So Jessica is walking down the street in Falmouth and she sees a poster on a store window for Hyannis Sound.  The poster features one of her friends, Mike, a member of the HS and the group is having a reunion concert at 8 p.m. in Hyannis. Woohoo!  Jane, Jess, Soraya, Nawal and I have dinner at Seafood Sam's and, even tho we are poop -ed, off to Hyannis we go. Get there just in time, find out the cost is $15 per  - 18 year old Soraya becomes 11 and we save 5 bucks(???) The guy at the door says the concert is going to be 2 and 1/2 hours and Nawal's face is the face of a serial killer!!!!  Whaaaaattttt?  Too late, baby, it's too late now! Off we go to our seats. When HS hits the stage and the a cappella show begins, all killing is forgotten. They rock!!! Totally O-mazing.  We rock for the whole concert! Jess has been in text contact with Mike and we meet him and some of his group pals after the concert. He invites Jess to their house for a party but there we are, like anchors around her neck. Although I will say we did offer to find a taxi for the half hour ride home. No taxi and Jess takes us home, but decides to go back to the party by herself. Wonderful for her, not so wonderful for us if we thought we were going to get a good night's sleep. Worry, snooze, worry, snooze, well at least until the half of a sleeping pill I took, took effect!! Jess had a great time and got in at 3 and we all got up at the crack of 10:30! We check out the HS schedule and they were performing in Falmouth at the Congregational church last night, the 8th! Yippee! Now we can be HS groupies!!! Two oldies and a goodie!! Nawal and Soraya had to head home, so Jane, Jess and I decide to try out the new Mexican restaurant in town (new to us) called Anejo. We sidle up to the bar and Barry makes us these incredible margaritas - bring 'em on, Barry!! Several margs and some great food later, off to church we go!  We get in line (???? really???) and get great seats in like the 4th pew.  Warmed up with margs, we are some whopping receptive audience! The HS is really awesome!  Each of the guys solos and their arrangements are so cool! After the concert, Jess meets up with the guys on the church steps. Jane and I say hi and head off to the sidewalk to wait while the "kids" visit.  Jess asks the guys back to the unit for beers on the beach!! Woohoo! Not sure who is more excited, Jess or us!! Partayyyyyy!!! Sure enough, half the group shows up around 11. Beers all around!! Off to the beach for a dip of the toes (skinny dipping was mentioned, but we were afraid to scare the guys away!!) We told the guys to have heart, we can still get shitfaced in  our 60's and they were happy there was hope for them! The night was beautiful with a half moon leaving a glass trail on the water right up to our feet! It was great fun getting to know these guys on the cusps of their futures (that one's for you, Joe!)!  Jane and I told them to ride the wave all the way to shore!  Then we came in the house and listened to everyone's paranormal experiences from school and home. Lots of laughs and goosebumps. The lightweights left at 1 a.m. We love the HS!!! Jess, you rock!!!
